There are several types of Hoist Rings that each have unique applications and capabilities depending on the lifting requirement.
Low-Profile Standard Hoist Rings: Attaches directly to a mounting surface with socket-head cap screws. The low-profile design allows the device to fasten to the attachment point when the space above or next to the load is limited.
Pivoting Hoisting Rings: These economical, low-profile devices can pivot 180°and have a high load capacity. They are ideal for applications that do not require a rotating action, such as lifting and lowering workpieces in a linear motion.
Side-Pull Hoist Rings: Ideal for side-mounting, especially when an attachment point is not available above the lifting load. They are typically capable of pivoting and swiveling for better load alignment.
Swivel Hoist Rings: Capable of a 180° pivot and 360° rotation and allows an operator to lift a load from any direction. They can absorb the pitch, roll, and sway of unbalanced loads for improved safety while lifting.
The type of Hoist Ring and load capacity required for lifting assemblies and loads varies on factors such as weight, size, and material. Carr Lane products are designed to meet or exceed a 5:1 safety factor and most of these devices also meet or exceed ASTM B30.26.
