We had the opportunity to partner with Mechanical Engineer Josh Sweeney, at the University of Colorado Boulder, to create an adaptive fishing device with CLM products. We are always looking for ways to support innovation and education, please reach out to us when you begin designing your next project!
Josh Sweeney remarked, "Our adaptive fishing device aims to allow people with spinal cord injuries or other limiting disabilities the ability to go fishing, and the device is able to cast and reel in a fishing pole through the use of a joystick. Carr Lane Manufacturing’s captive hand screws and locating pins allow our adaptive fishing device to be easily assembled in minutes without worrying about alignment. All the caretaker needs to do is place the two pieces together and screw in the hand knobs, and the device is ready to be used."
